FAQ ABOUT TATTOOS
Q: How do I book an appointment?
A: Simply click the “Book a Tattoo” button at the top right corner of the homepage and fill out the form.
Q: How much does a tattoo cost?
A: Pricing depends on several factors, including placement, style, detail, whether it's a cover-up, and if color is involved. There is a $200 minimum to book. For smaller tattoos that don’t take much time, you may be able to get more than one in a single session, depending on your request.
Q: Do you do cover-ups?
A: Yes! I’ll work with you to create a unique piece that not only meets your vision but also covers or incorporates the old tattoo in an aesthetically pleasing way.
Q: Do you accept walk-ins?
A: No, I currently work by appointment only.
Q: What styles do you specialize in?
A: My specialties include black & grey, stippling, and line work.
Q: Can I get a patch test?
A: Yes. A patch test can be scheduled and will take no more than 5 minutes. The cost is $50.
Q: Do tattoos hurt?
A: Pain varies based on placement, your personal tolerance, and whether you adapt during longer sessions. Factors such as whether you prefer lining or shading can also affect your experience. Eating a solid meal and staying well-hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment can help significantly. Relaxation techniques like breathing exercises can also make a big difference during your session.
Q: How long have you been tattooing?
A: I've been tattooing for 13 years.
Q: Do you offer in-person consultations?
A: Yes, I do offer in-person consultations for a fee of $50 if you’re looking to have one outside of a scheduled tattoo session.
Q: What is your availability?
A: I am available on weekdays after 4 pm, and Saturdays and Sundays after 2 pm. I tend to get booked weeks or even months in advance, so it's a first-come, first-served basis depending on my schedule and the date you’re requesting.
Q: Do you travel for tattoos?
A: Yes! Travel fees are based on distance and whether I’m traveling by car or plane.
Q: Do you do private tattoo parties?
A: Yes! There’s a $2000 minimum for private tattoo parties. How the cost is split among your group is up to you. Travel is included, though additional fees may apply depending on the distance. I can also do out-of-state tattoo parties with a 30-day notice. You'll get a 10-hour work window, and a $250 non-refundable deposit is required to secure the date. Custom designs for your party are included at no extra charge.
Q: Do you still do pop-up events?
A: Absolutely! If you'd like to host a pop-up at your business, I'm open to collaborating with brands as long as our goals align. I create custom flash sheets for the event and don’t charge a booking fee. I keep all profits from the tattoos, and promotion for your business is included.
Q: Do you offer flash tattoos?
A: It depends on my workload, but I do offer flash tattoos occasionally. You just have to catch them when they’re available!
Q: How old do I need to be to get a tattoo?
A: You must be at least 18 years old with a valid ID, or 16 with a parent or legal guardian present at the appointment.
Q: Do you provide aftercare instructions?
A: Yes! I’ll provide detailed aftercare instructions along with recommended products. Saniderm patches are also available if preferred.
Q: Are there any designs you won’t tattoo?
A: While I’m open to many ideas, I won’t participate in any design I feel is harmful to you or others. This can vary depending on the request.
Q: Do you tattoo hands and feet?
A: Yes, I do. However, hands and feet require extra care during healing, as these areas are more prone to interference due to daily use.
Q: Will my tattoo fade over time?
A: Over time, tattoos naturally change as skin stretches and ages. Factors like aftercare, overall health, and skin elasticity can affect how the tattoo ages, but it doesn’t necessarily mean distortion. It's just a part of the natural process.
Q: How does tattoo application work?
A: A tattoo machine works similarly to a sewing machine. It uses one to fourteen needles attached to a needle bar that moves up and down, puncturing the skin to deposit ink into the dermis layer.
Q: Should I tip my tattoo artist?
A: Tipping is optional but always appreciated! Any amount above the total is a generous gesture.
